Diana Alava recently combined her love of Fashion with her recent entrepreneurial success. She created Francia Dresses, a high end dress rental and exchange boutique.
Diana’s mother started sewing at the age of 8 in the Dominican Republic, after moving to New York she became immersed in the Fashion district of New York City. As a young Fashionista, Diana would draw her own designs and her mother would make her clothes. After winning best dressed at her prom Diana’s mother encouraged her to go out on her own and start designing her clothes.
She loved the idea of renting clothing because it affords you the opportunity to wear a beautiful dress one time and never be seen in it again. Her business was born by meeting the needs and desires of all of her friends looking for a great opportunity to look amazing on the budget.
Francia Dresses offers 3 different types of programs:
- The Rental Program which is ideal for those going to one or two events a year, dress rentals range from $50 to $250 for an evening and can be purchased online or in person.
- The Exchange program in which you exchange your lightly worn dresses for a credit towards her dress rental selection.
- The VIP program which is ideal for the person attending a lot of events, you pay a low monthly rate and you have access to any number of dresses for the month. The minimum requirement is 6 months.
Francia Dresses is making its mark on the Palm Beach fashion scene, with ten ladies wearing her dresses to the recent March of Dimes Fundraiser at Eau Spa, it’s easy to see how this young entrepreneur won best dressed at her prom. Her dresses were also featured on the Junior Leaguers who were Ambassadors for the event.
Diana was most recently featured in Wellington Magazine as an example of what to wear to Sunday polo. With her Fashion expertise and diversity of dresses this young fashionista is certainly dressed for success!
