First Bites Bash 2014 Kicks Off Chicago Restaurant Week And Supports Local Charities

To get the seventh annual Chicago Restaurant Week off the ground and running, Choose Chicago will present the First Bites Bash on January 23, 2014 in the Great Hall of Union Station. Hosted by James Beard Foundation award-winner and avec executive chef and owner, Paul Kahan, enjoy tastings from 50 of the best chefs and restaurants Chicago has to offer. Includes wine and beer tasting from First Bites Bash beverage partners, Goose Island and Terlato Wines.

A portion of proceeds from First Bites Bash will benefit local charities, Gilda’s Club Chicago and Pilot Light. Gilda’s Club provides support for cancer patients and their families. Pilot Light focuses on nutrition, health, and wellness for youth.

Chicago Restaurant Week is a celebration of Chicago’s finest culinary talents. Since its inception, Chicago Restaurant Week has been a 10-day experience. This year, locals and visitors now have 14 days to experience amazing meals and deals at participating restaurants beginning January 24 through February 6. More than 250 participating restaurants will feature prix fixe lunches for $22 and dinners for $33 and $44, excluding beverages, tax and gratuity. Online reservations will be available beginning mid-December at www.eatitupchicago.com.

Doors at Union Station will open at 5:30 pm (all guests must enter through Jackson Street entrance only)

Parking: Entrance to the self-park parking garage is located on S. Canal Street between Van Buren & Jackson on the left side of the street.

Business or cocktail party attire is suggested.
