The holidays will be here, and it definitely smells like Christmas in Austin. From the Zilker tree lighting to the carols at the Capitol, there is a lot of holiday cheer running around this city. A Christmas Story
There’s still time to see A Christmas Story at the ZACH Theatre. Based on the motion picture, this stage productions will bring to life Ralphie’s quest for the Red Ryder B.B. Gun. Relive the pink bunny suits, tongues stuck on flagpoles, turkey-loving dogs and Pop’s fishnet leg lamp. The production will run until December 29.

The Wonder Bread Years
Get ready for a trip down memory lane. The Wonder Bread Years stars Pat Hazell, and is a fast-paced production that combines stand-up and theater. Audience members will get that nostalgic feeling as images of Kool-Aid, Slinkys, Rock ‘Em Sock ‘Em Robots, Big Wheels and many more give them a blast from the past.
This holiday season, the Long Center is also partnering with Caritas of Austin for a Holiday Food Drive. Guests can bring items to the Long Center during any performance and drop them off.

Blue Genie Holiday Bazaar
The Blue Genie Holiday Bazaar features thousands of handmade artworks, jewelry, clothing and gifts from more than 135 Austin area artists. Shoppers are bound to find something for everyone on their list. Founded in 2001, the bazaar has grown and was recently named “Best in Show and Sale” by the Austin Chronicle.
This year, the bazaar is donating the profits from Mondays to the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Central and South Texas. If you can’t make it out on Sunday, be sure to stop by on Monday to be a part of this.
