Meera Rajagopalan is the Austin Editor for Miss A. A proud Longhorn, Meera earned her journalism degree from UT. Some of her hobbies include event planning, writing and baking. She loves trying new recipes and experimenting with food. Her latest creation was Pistachio Fudge. A tech nerd at heart, Meera loves cool iPhone apps and geeking out with friends about social media trends. Aside from the tech stuff, Meera also enjoys discovering new fonts. There’s something about finding the perfect font to help enhance titles. Besides her hobbies, Meera loves free stuff. So far besides tons of samples, she’s won concert tickets, movie passes (compliments of Do512) and a cooking class.

Keep Austin Generous Week Finale

Keep Austin Generous Week wraps up with the “final shindig,” at the Mexic-Arte Museum.  This event will be the culmination of a week long celebration of encouraging Austinites to give more, in easy and fun ways. During the party, the museum’s current exhibit, “Mix ‘N Mash,” will be on display. Proceeds from this event will benefit the Austin Relief Alliance.

Third Annual Deck the District Party

Through transforming storefront windows into beautiful art installations, local design students have helped spread a little holiday cheer in the Second Street District. On Saturday, the winner of the window walk will be announced during the Deck the District party. Students from the University of Texas at Austin, St. Edwards University and Texas State University created holiday window displays in attempt to win scholarships.

The theme for this year’s windows is “Classic Movies.” From Wizard of Oz to Singin’ in the Rain, there is a variety of classics that are featured. There will also be live music, pictures and a visit from jolly Old St. Nick himself.

Afternoon With Santa At The Driskill

Santa isn’t straying too far away from downtown this weekend. He will be at The Driskill Sunday afternoon greeting families and posing for pictures. There will be live music from Joe McDermott, along with cookies decorating and other holiday crafts.
