Jane Fonda was born December 21, 1937. She is an actress, political activist, style icon and writer and former fashion model. She starred in films like Cat Ballou, Barbarella, Fun with Dick and Jane, Georgia Rule and Monster-in-Law. She has been incredibly successful in her film career winning three Golden Globes, two Academy Awards and an Emmy Award.
She has been a passionate political activist and has said she is a feminist and a liberal. She opposed the Vietnam War and this was deemed controversial. She also protested about the Iraq War.
She has also been a voice to help women experiencing violence. She worked with Gloria Steinem and Robin Morgan in 2005 to be a co-founder of Women’s Media Center. The Women’s Media Center is an organization that aims to strengthen the voices of women in the media via advocacy, the creating of original content and training in the areas of media and leadership. She is now on their board.
My favourite outfit from Fonda was a white dress paired with brown leather gloves, gold earrings and a white floppy hat worn very elegantly. It is the epitome of sophistication and gives off an air of cool confidence.
Another outfit which really works for this style genius is where she teams a quirky orange top with a flowing purple skirt and gold chain. It is boho chic presented at it’s best.
In a photograph with actor John Travolta of Saturday Night Fever fame, she is seen wearing an elegant white top paired with a ladylike black skirt.
There is a black collar on the white top with a gold flower and she has accessorized perfectly with white earrings. The attention to detail in this outfit is what really brings it together and makes it special. Fonda has everything. She’s a great actress and a style icon but most of all her heart is in the right place.
