Earlier this month, Austin Beauty Guide held their first Beauty360 Beauty and Wellness Expo. At the Expo, pink and white balloon arches greeted guests as they made their way to the Palmer Events Center.

It benefited Susan G. Komen Austin, which seemed to be extra special because it fell on the same Sunday as the Race for the Cure in Austin. In support of the cause, the expo donated 20 percent of ticket sales and 100 percent of the raffle donations to Komen Austin.

The goal of the expo was to allow guests to find new ways to treat themselves and take care of themselves. Businesses like Blast Blowdry Bar, Skinny Limits, Foxy Mango and Beauty Box 5, just to name a few, had demonstrations and opportunities for guests to learn more about the companies.

Meredith Davis, the founder and organizer of the Beauty360 Expo, believes that beauty is so much more than exterior looks. It is everything that makes us who we are. This belief has allowed Meredith to spread the message to many Austinites. We had an opportunity to talk to Meredith about the event.

Q: Congrats on an amazing event! How much money were you able to raise for Komen?
A: Thank you so much! We were able to raise and donate $1,700 to Komen.

Q: What was one of your favorite moments from the weekend?
A: Honestly, my favorite moment was seeing the line of guests waiting for us to open up the doors this past weekend! As the organizer of the event, it made me really happy to see the women that couldn’t wait to get in and enjoy themselves. After all, that is why I do what I do…to make people happy.

Q: What’s next for Austin Beauty Guide?
A: The next step for Austin Beauty Guide is growth. We hope to bring pampering to a whole new level in other markets. We will also be hosting monthly manicure & martini events and plan to host our annual Beauty Goes Red event in February with the American Heart Association and the Go Red for Women campaign.

This week, Austin Beauty Guide will also launch their Martinis and Manicures Ladies Night series. The series will kick-off on November 21 at the Bambu Nightclub & Lounge
