93.3 WMMR’s Preston And Steve Show Hosts Camp Out For Hunger To Benefit Philabundance

Camp Out for Hunger, hosted by 93.3 WMMR’s Preston and Steve Show, starts December 2nd to the 6th at the XFINITY Live! at the Sports Complex. For about 15 years now, the Camp Out for Hunger has collected literally tons of food to donate to Philabundance. This year is the first time that the camp out will take place in South Philadelphia.

“It gets bigger and better every year.” said Nick Mcllwain, Producer of the Preston and Steve Show, “This year we have moved, and we took the decision very heavily, but we think we can get even more food in the South Philly location. Now people can take the train and other forms of public transportation to participate.”

The Preston and Steve Show will bear the chilly weather, while broadcasting from XFINITY Live! the entire week. In fact, Preston and Steve actually live in an RV, so “Camp Out” is not an exaggeration for the show’s employees. Donations of non-perishable food items can be dropped off at the XFINITY Live! parking lot. All of the food donated will benefit the hungry across the Delaware Valley.

A very special feature this year, will include a temporary Acme Market that Acme is setting up at the South Philly location, so those in attendance can also purchase items to donate on site. Donations can also be made at your local Acme throughout the month of November, for those who do not have the time to stop by.

These donations are critical to low income families, including the working poor, who make too much money to get food stamps but still struggle to put food on their tables. According to Philabundance’s website, hunger affects 900,000 people throughout the Delaware Valley. The food that is donated from Camp Out for Hunger is critical to the Philabundance food supply and helps to stock their shelves each year feeding thousands of hungry people.
