Four Seasons Hotel Seattle Celebrates 5 Year Anniversary

Five is a magic number at the Four Seasons Hotel Seattle .  It was recently recognized as a Forbes Travel Guide 2013 Five Star Award Winner. And on November 3rd, the Four Seasons Seattle celebrated its fifth anniversary at its location at Union Street. To celebrate, the hotel gathered five Four Seasons chefs to host several culinary fetes at the hotel’s ART Restaurant and Lounge this week.

The hotel, steps from Pike Place MarketSeattle Art Museum,  the waterfront and downtown shopping has sweeping views of Puget Sound and the Olympic mountains.  It is one of my favorite places in downtown Seattle to watch the sunset.

At this week’s lunch, Ilse Harley, General Manager of the Four Seasons Hotel Seattle, highlighted upcoming events for the holidays and unveiled the winners of the “My Seattle Sunset” contest.   The hotel received hundreds of entries of people’s favorite sunset photos from around Puget Sound and selected twelve to create a calendar to benefit the Pediatric Brain Tumor Research Fund.  Since 2009, Four Seasons Hotel Seattle has raised more than $1 million for the fund.

The night before the five chefs created a celebratory and collaborative “Best of the West” dinner.  Executive Chef Kerry Sear shared that is was  “Chopped” meets “Iron Chef” challenge. The five chefs were each given 10 minutes to create an amuse-bouche from ingredients just unveiled to them (for example, Fruit Loops, marshmallows and geoduck) while guests watched and cheered them on.  They also created wonderful small bites for lunch and it was a real treat to have all five chefs in one place.   The featured chefs were:
