Miss A Columnist

Stacey Oswald, originally from South Florida, moved to Nashville as a member of Vanderbilt University's class of 2015. There, she is the assistant editor of Vanderbilt HerCampus, an online magazine for college girls, as well as a writer for the sports section of the Vanderbilt Hustler. She recently became an initiated sister of Kappa Delta sorority and looks forward to getting involved in more organizations, like an a capella group or a club sport, during her college career. Outside of school and her extracurriculars, Stacey finds happiness in many sources, the most crucial being exercise and the sun. She loves to attend exercise classes and is an avid runner; she recently completed the Country Music Half Marathon. She also loves Vitamin D, especially when on the beach- though of course, she only soaks up the sun after applying SPF. A few of the things Stacey couldn't live without? Good food (especially from Sweet Cece's, Bricktops, and Bread & Co.), great books (The Bungalow by Sarah Jio is a recent favorite), her family back in Florida, her wonderful boyfriend, and all of the great friends she's made at Vanderbilt.

Country Music Awards 2013: Red Carpet Fashion

The red carpet did not disappoint at the 47th Annual CMA Awards on November 6th. Neither did Carrie Underwood, who wore ten different looks throughout the evening as a co-host with Brad Paisley. Fall fashion trends were certainly on display, from embellished gowns to geometric frocks. Read on to see who had the best looks of the night!

Carrie Underwood stole the show with her witty humor, high-energy performance, and most of all, her fabulous costume changes. Her embellished Ralph & Russo Couture gown turned heads and made her sparkle on the red carpet, but her best look was the bright pink, floral, high-low dress she wore while hosting. One thing is for sure- this girl knows how to dress!

Female Vocalist of the Year Miranda Lambert looked svelte and sexy in a cobalt Roberto Cavalli gown with a down-to-there neckline. Husband Blake Shelton certainly appreciated her red carpet look, as evidenced by his Tweet: “My wife is so hot it’s ridiculous…” You’re a lucky guy, Blake!

Kimberly Perry, of The Band Perry, chose an elegant Johanna Johnson gown that reawakened my love for winter white. Her brothers, Neil and Reid, looked pretty dapper, as well!

Colbie Caillat wore a geometric Nicole Miller frock that showed everyone exactly how to pull off a minidress in the winter. Her sleek hair was a drastic departure from the big hair commonly seen at the CM’s, but it went with her dress perfectly. Who says the CMAs are one-dimensional?

Taylor Swift, who won the prestigious Pinnacle Award, rocked her favorite hue with a long, flowing Elle Saab gown. She was well-deserving of the praise she got from Brad and Carrie for growing up into a mature, modest young woman instead of a twerking internet sensation!

Everyone’s favorite couple, Tim McGraw & Faith Hill, made it clear on the red carpet that this was not their first time at the rodeo. Faith wore a gorgeous Grecian gown, and Tim wore a gray suit with a cowboy hat that only he could pull off!

Kellie Pickler vamped it up in a black Georges Chakra Couture dress that she paired with emerald earrings and a pinned-up hairdo. She looked like an old Hollywood star!
