Ivar’s is a Northwest institution and THE place to go if you are craving a great bowl of clam chowder. If Ivar’s stacked the cups of clam chowder it sold in 2012 as high as the Space Needle, it would be the equivalent of 3,199 Space Needles high!
Clam’s for Charity: Ivar’s has a rich history of supporting the surrounding community and this anniversary year is no exception. Ivar’s will donate proceeds on October 15 to Northwest Harvest, and on October 29 to the Seattle Aquarium. In fact, Ivar Haglund has a built a legacy of feeding people and educating the public on our marine life as he established Seattle’s first aquarium at Pier 54 in 1938, along with his fish-and-chips stand.
About Ivar’s: Ivar’s began selling seafood on Seattle’s waterfront in 1938. Today, there are twenty-four Ivar’s fast casual Seafood Bars and three full-service restaurants: Ivar’s Acres of Clams, Ivar’s Salmon House and Ivar’s Mukilteo Landing. Ivar’s Seafood, Soup and Sauce Company sells its award-winning soups, chowders and sauces both nationally and internationally.
Ivar’s believes in giving back to communities and donates clam chowder and gift certificates to local food banks and community programs that promote diversity, education, the environment, the welfare of children, and medical outreach, support and research.
