Brian Wilson and Jeff Beck are true rock legends. They rarely come to Chicago ( especially the reclusive Wilson), so music fans have to catch them at their only Chicago appearance at the House of Blues . See the Beach Boys founder and guitar god downtown at a concert benefiting San Miguel School Chicago.
The seventh annual event is always a popular charity concert. San Miguel School is located on the south side of Chicago. The school has helped at-risk children become excellent scholars. The school was founded in 1995 by Brother Ed Siderewicz and Gordon Hannon. San Miguel’s 80 students all get individual attention in small classrooms. The private school help students achieve academic excellence with over 90% of students graduating high school, and more than 80% going on to post-secondary education. More than academic success, the school offers a holistic approach to helping students. San Miguel gives students counseling, trips to Washington D.C. to teach them to become leaders, and spiritual guidance as well. Not only are the students involved, but parents are expected to participate in the school’s activities almost as much as the students. This hands-on approach ensures the success of San Miguel students.
The School Rocks Benefit fundraiser is really a party with a purpose. The benefit has a Rockin’ Raffle, where attendees can bid on stunning jewelry from Tiffany and Co. They can also bid on an auction to win great prizes, like drumming lessons from Cheap Trick guitarist Bun. E. Carlos or a luxury cruise around Lake Michigan on a yacht. Classic rock fans and anyone wanting to support a worthy cause have to take once in a lifetime opportunity to see Wilson and Beck perform at the School Rocks! Fundraiser.
