Paris Pop-Up Stores: Is There Life After Fashion Week?

Last  Wednesday, Paris Fashion Week came to a close following nine days of just under 100 runway shows. Although models, designers, photographers, press, and stylists are now preparing to pack up and leave the city, fear not – the Fashion Week festivities continue in the City of Light! A handful of designers have set up shop around the city in the form of temporary pop-up stores that will remain open for weeks and months to come. Don’t miss some of our favorites:

Manish Arora

This New Delhi-based designer’s Spring 2014 collection was one of our favorites this season with its wild colors, beautiful handcrafted beaded trim, and Josephine Baker-inspired 1920s flapper style. The Fall 2013 collection is currently on sale at the company’s pop-up store near the Louvre, and there’s currently no permanent store in France, so get it while it’s hot! Miss A attended the pop-up store’s opening and managed to briefly catch up with Mr. Arora to ask about his charity work, including his past involvement with Elephant Parade London. While there are currently no impending projects planned, he cheerfully replied that he’d love to get involved if the right project came along. We’ll be keeping our ears open!

Louis Vuitton

Louis Vuitton has been a household name in luxury fashion for decades, boasting the highest quality leather goods. Their new pop-up store, L’Aventure, celebrates the art of adventure through a new African-inspired travel collection in collaboration with Canadian fashion journalist Tyler Brûlé. The collection has a very nostalgic feel, combining 19th century explorer style and the signature monogram into modern styles for today’s globetrotter.

Petit Bateau

Although Petit Bateau didn’t make the official Paris Fashion Week lineup, this nautical themed pop-up store is definitely worth taking a look at. Comparable to a more upscale French version of Lands’ End, the pocket-friendly clothing company boasts clean, preppy styles for the whole family. Petit Bateau also gives back to the community, having helped the organization Les Amis de Tohoku organize a clothing drive after the 2011 earthquake and tsunami in Japan. Every Saturday until October 12th the pop-up store will be giving out free crêpes to customers, so make sure you show up with an appetite!
