On October 12, one of Atlanta’s human services organizations, Caring for Others, Inc., will host its annual gala fundraiser. The theme will be the Art of Nature, which celebrates the journey of hope through 12 years of service to the community. The gala will be a lively evening including a top notch silent auction, raffles, games, cocktails, dinner, live entertainment, and dancing. Guests will also enjoy a special treat with a choral performance from Atlanta Young Singers. All proceeds will benefit Caring For Others and support its work assisting low-income families, providing disaster relief, and helping seniors throughout Atlanta, the Southeast, and the world.
The 2013 Host Committee includes Lalohni Campbell, Chanda Dabney, William Fogler, Kwanza Hall, Rosemarie Loyle, Pascale Rim, Roporscha Taylor, Timothy Tew, and Doddy Ward.
Caring For Others, Inc. was established in November 2001 to provide meaningful improvement in quality of life and economic opportunity for low-income individuals and families. The nonprofit offers an advanced model for human services that strives to prevent the familiar cycle of poverty many people face today. The organization aims to stabilize lives by meeting immediate basic needs of food and clothing, and then providing support to help clients become more self-sufficient. Caring For Others provides personal and financial support during turbulent times including individual counseling, money management training, job retention, and job placement services.
To serve the community and fulfill their mission, the organization depends critically on the charitable giving of others. Caring For Others seeks progressive solutions across the entirety of its platform including developing a unique and more sustainable business model with CareMart. The CareMart store generates income through the sale of discounted items such as new furniture, clothing, and other household goods.
