Miss A Columnist

Pam Renee is an original WHO DAT LOUISIANA girl, now dwelling in downtown Dallas, which isn’t so bad of a distance when the craving for a spicy Creole dish, warm powdered beignets, or her favorite drive-thru daiquiri spot cannot be shaken. Described as a vogue-a-holic by default, a socialite by nature, and a shoe-preneur by trade, she delights in the unexpected, has a tongue in cheek approach to tradition, never wears just anything, miscellaneous is her favorite category, and lastly – is easily spoiled by all things fabulous and swanky.
Pam loves the Big D (Dallas) because there is always a wide and various array of things available to do, so it has become the norm for her to try to be in two, three, maybe four places in one evening when her calendar gets really tight. She has unintentionally made a name for herself by being the GO TO person for friends, family, (sometimes strangers) desiring something unique, something fabulous, something chic, to attend, stay, entertain, dine, wine, network, or shop.
If you have a Dallas charity or cultural event, restaurant, boutique, spa, or salon you would like covered on Miss A, please contact Pam at pamreneepr@yahoo.com.

The midnight train may have first stopped in Georgia, but it will stop in Dallas in October with seven-time Grammy Award winner Gladys Knight as the headlining performer for one of the most anticipated social events in Dallas. TWO x TWO will host its fifteenth annual charity gala and auction for Saturday, October 26 at the Rachofsky House.

Many fans know Knight from former singing group Gladys Knight and The Pips, with a lengthy list of several hits in pop, R&B, and adult contemporary – yet many are unaware that she is also a devoted humanitarian and philanthropist.  Recent television and film credits include the Tyler Perry film “I Can Do Bad All By Myself,” a cameo on the Emmy Award-winning NBC hit comedy “30 Rock,” and appearance as a guest judge on FOX’s smash hit “American Idol.” She is committed to such worthy causes as the American Diabetes Association, for which she is their national spokesperson, The American Cancer Society, The Boys & Girls Club of America, The Minority AIDS Project, amfAR, and Crisis Intervention.

TWO x TWO has raised more than $40 million in support of essential AIDS research at amfAR and for the Contemporary Art Acquisitions Fund at the Dallas Museum of Art. The gala benefit features a seated dinner for 400 guests with live and silent auctions of major works of contemporary art and unique luxury items. It is the largest U.S. fundraiser for both amfAR and the Dallas Museum of Art.
