The Rodney Cook Estate, Atlanta’s largest private estate and one of the most intriguing and exclusive venues in the area, will be hosting this year’s Crime Stoppers‘ Blue Jean Ball. On October 5, this casual gala will raise awareness and
garner support for the citizen crime-fighting program, Crime Stoppers. Ellen Dracos Lemming and husband Jeff Lemming are chairing the event.
“Jeff and I have supported this event and the important work of Crime Stoppers for several years. We are honored to serve as chairs for this year’s Blue Jean Ball and look forward to another uniqueand fun event,” says Ellen, CEO of Dracos-Lemming Consulting LLC. Denim-clad guests should expect to have a great time with live music from Bogey & The Viceroy, a buffet from Low Country Barbecue, and a chance to mingle with others who support making greater Atlanta a safer place.
Aside from the excellent food and music, the location will be quite a venture in itself. The property includes stunning, historic buildings with ties to some of Atlanta’s oldest families and most prominent citizens. The estate possesses historic monuments dedicated to the Prince of Wales and Carolyn and John Kennedy, among others, nestled within the Estate’s lush gardens.
Last year’s Blue Jean Ball raised more than $65,000, which translated to 32 dangerous predators taken off greater Atlanta area’s streets. The money raised also prevented more than 416 additional crimes from being committed. The Lemmings say this year’s fundraising goal is $100,000. With the help of citizens and support from the business community, Crime Stoppers is achieving amazing results helping the Atlanta Police Department make Atlanta a safer city with tips having led to more than 637 arrests, more than 96 illegal guns confiscated, and close to $1 million in recovered property and seized drugs since 2007. Crime Stoppers is a program of the Atlanta Police Foundation.
