Miss A Columnist

Grace Yco is the San Diego Editor for Miss A. Denying her writinglust finally caught up with her. She was forced to trade in biology for blogging and hasn’t looked back since (moments spent Hermèsmerized notwithstanding).

She grew up in Japan, considers California home, but feels like she belongs in Paris. In her bag, you will always find three books: one for reading, one for writing and one for planning. Yes she has tablets, but committing to them is another story, and so that relationship remains complicated.

You can find her scouring the web, musing over luxury elitism vs. fashion democracy, and dilly-dallying in rapturous moments of absolute silence (she is not a nun). Grace is also sensitive. And sometimes funny. She’s a professional bikini bard by day and a bookworm by night.

Recap: Grand Opening of Lucky Bastard Saloon In San Diego

Walk right on up to San Diego’s newest nightlife venue: a bi-level, modern day saloon outfitted with flat screen after flat screen, hearty food and drinks and friendly waitresses outfitted in theme with the wild, wild West.  We’re talking about Lucky Bastard Saloon, the new center of high energy fun in San Diego’s Gaslamp district.

The brainchild of local celebrity, Nicole Dahm, model, actress and one of three famous triplet sisters, the Saloon was the manifestation of her own fun and lively family memories.
“I grew up watching sports, it has always been a favorite!  I created Lucky Bastard Saloon to continue that favorite pastime, meet up with my friends and family to watch the game and have some strong drinks and great food.”

Libations and grub is right.  Among the good eats floating around the event were platters of street tacos, artichoke pizza, Ahi tuna nachos and shrimp.  Guests mingled from the outdoor seating area all the way to the saloon’s second level, equipped with pool tables, games, plush seating and more flat screens.  Music spanning 80’s rock to top 40’s kept the atmosphere festive as did a celebratory cake cutting at the end of the night.

It’s perfect timing for this brand new San Diego nightlife spot as football season is just beginning–and Charger fans are in luck!  Lucky Bastard Saloon serves Football Brunch on Saturday and Sunday and they also have a Monday night special during the entire season: $10 for a domestic draft beer and the “original” Bastard Burger.
