6th Annual RiverCity Festival In Philadelphia

There is no better place to gather and celebrate the local culture, commerce and community of Fishtown than Penn Treaty Park.  The park is a favorite to Philadelphians for its tremendous history and spectacular views of the city; creating the perfect setting for the Fishtown Neighbors Association’s (FNA) 6th annual RiverCity Festival. FNA’s mission is to serve families and neighbors by promoting community activities, civic involvement, education, and safety by fostering the smart growth of their unique and diverse riverfront neighborhood of Fishtown.RCF-logo-alone

The festival is FREE to the public and the musical lineup alone is enough to make this the can’t miss event of the fall.  Electro-pop crew Vacationer is set to headline the show.  Also performing on the mainstage; jam rock crew American Babies, psychedelic pop boys Cheers Elephant, rock/folk melodies by John Francis and The Midnight Choir and the fresh creative tunes of The Fractals.

The festival kicks off at 12 noon with a 5k fun run winding through the scenic streets of the Fishtown neighborhood. Run registration includes a Tech T-shirt for the first 100 registrants and admission to the hospitality tent.  This year, The RiverCity Festival 5k fun run is proud to sponsor local non-profit Philly Achilles.  Their mission is to enable people with all types of disabilities to participate in mainstream athletics in order to promote personal achievement, enhance self esteem and lower barriers to living a fulfilling life. Achilles’ team members and volunteers will be running the 5k as well as enjoying the festival post-run to share their vision. Additionally, The RiverCity Festival 5k team has partnered with The Fishtown Beer Runners to check in pre-registered runners, mark the course to ensure safety and dole out high-fives as runners pass by too!

As always, local vendors and businesses are fully supporting the days festivities and will be displaying a wide array of arts and crafts.  Many local food trucks will join the festival as well, including Foo TruckGuerrilla UltimaThe Buttercream Cupcake Truck and many more.  The variety of the food will surely suit the tastes of any palette.
