Friday, September 6, artistic directors and cast members representing all seven theatre companies of The Off Broad Street Theatre Corsortium gathered with theater-goers, friends and family to celebrate the The Off Broad Street App launch. The scene was set at The Corner Foodery. Attendees sipped craft beers and sampled light fare while learning what exactly this app can do with only the touch of a finger!
The Aversa PR team and app representatives mingled throughout the “appy” hour, demonstrating on guests’ smart phones how to view full season listings, interactive maps and custom social media feeds which allow users to add insight and share their thoughts about a production directly from the app to Facebook or Twitter.
This free app also allows for unparalleled access to exclusive offers, contests and up-to-the-minute posts about the each of the Off Broad Street Theatre companies: 11th Hour Theatre Company, Azuka Theatre, Brat Productions, EgoPo Classic Theatre, Flashpoint Theatre, Inis Nua Theatre Company and Mauckingbird Theatre.
Users can favorite the companies they love to follow and discover the ones they have yet to experience.
The app is available NOW for Android and iPhone users. Download it for free by searching “Off Broad Street” in the Apple Store or Android Market.
Off Broad Street is a consortium of theaters designed to celebrate professional independent theater in Philadelphia. To maximize marketing efforts, these seven theater companies banded together to develop a wider reach than each would have the capabilities of doing on their own. Off Broad Street focuses on nurturing audiences’ appreciation of adventurous, artist-driven theater. By exposing Philadelphia audiences to the vast rage of their work, the consortium is able to increase awareness of high-quality alternatives to mainstream theatrical venues as well as heighten the awareness of the masses to the magnitude of the Philadelphia theater community.
