Review: evo Hair Care Products

Finding a hair care product that will tame your tresses and give you that to-die-for hair is always a personal mission of mine. The other piece to hair is the season and weather which can certainly make hair misbehave. Recently I was introduced to the evo product line, thanks to The Moxie Agency, a professional hair care line whose catch phrase is “saving humans from themselves.” The products have fun names as the company realizes that it is hair care and not saving the world, it is a fun, humorous brand that does respect the environment. The luxury products are paraben, sulphate and propylene glycol free and uses natural ingredients wherever possible.

Evo is also socially aware and gives damaged Evo stock to homeless shelters, the product is fine it’s just the packaging that is not perfect. For mother Earth all the packaging is 100 percent recyclable and they use recycled materials for printed and promotional items.

Hair Care:

The Therapist Calming Shampoo ($24 USD) & Conditioner ($24 USD):  Recommended for dry, frizzy or color-treated hair, it a moisturizing duo that will cleanse, repair and hydrate. The scent of the product is clean and soothing, just like the name. I did fall in love with the conditioner as it really made a difference in smoothing my hair.

The Great Hydrator: Moisture Mask ($25 USD):  An intense hydrating treatment meant to tame, smooth dry, frizzy, color treated hair and improve manageability. I would recommend using it once or maybe twice a week as it is a heavier treatment. It feels smooth and silky going on and it is absolutely meant for hair that sees a lot of heat styling, color processing or in general dry hair.

Styling Products:

Root Canal: Base Support Spray ($25 USD):  As any celebrity hairstylist will tell you volume starts at the roots.  However, not all hair has instant boost volume power and while the perfect tease can get it up, sometimes a little help is needed.  That is where this product comes in handy.  The root canal spray applied to the roots helps give some texture and body and makes it easy to get that volume at the top.  In an effort to really test, I used it on myself as well as a few clients to see if it would help achieve volume on different hair types. It really is a hair “pick me up” and will make styling your hair so much easier.

Haze: Styling Powder ($25 USD):  Not to be confused with the Root lift, this styling powder adds volume and texture to hair.  Think second day hair it may be a little limp looking for a refresher, this is the go to solution.  Just sprinkle into you hands, and fluff into your hair.

Love Touch: Shine Spray ($26.95USD):  A weightless finishing spray that adds shine to dull tresses and helps protect from humidity.  It is a finishing spray, but not a hold spray.  It gives your hair ultimate shine and brightens up your hair.  Use on damp hair or on dry hair.  Perfect for when you are wearing your hair down and want to feel like you are in one of those hair commercials.

Helmut: Finishing Spray ($10 USD):  This spray is no joke.  When you get your hair into that up do or curled and worry about it falling, reach over and spray with Helmut. It has a powdery scent, which is nice, and supreme hold. It held up to stray hairs that wanted to do their own thing. I would not recommend it if you want to run your hands through your hair, but if you want your hair to look perfect all day, this is it. Perfect for special occasions or brides.

I genuinely was impressed with products, the packaging is hilarious and all of the sayings and descriptions keep it fun as hair should be. While all of these products may not be for you, they have many more that fit all hair types and styles. You can find EVO at salons or online at the EVO store.
