A month before the seventh annual New England Walk4Hearing fundraiser, supporters will gather at Gore Place in Waltham on Sunday, September 15 from noon to 3 p.m. for the Walk4Hearing Family Picnic Kick-Off. Step out and enjoy a day of family fun! Aside from the face painting and arts and crafts, participants will learn more about the programs supported by Walk4Hearing.
Since its inception in 2006, the Walk4Hearing events have raised over $6 million and boasted over 35,000 walkers per event, making Walk4Hearing the fastest growing fundraiser and public event for hearing-loss in the country. Northeast Region Coordinator Suzanne D’Amico states that the mission of the region’s yearly walk is “to explore all topics and situations that affect people with hearing loss, as well as to dispel certain myths that hearing loss is only associated with age.” As a result of the Boston Marathon Bombings, this year’s fundraiser will focus on ways to cope with immediate hearing-loss. Join forces now and help to raise awareness for hearing-loss!
