MTV VMA Awards 2013: Best In Beauty

The 2013 MTV Video Music Awards brought together music elite and upcoming stars out to Brooklyn, New York. While the star-studded event focused on performances, re-uniting bands and handing out the moon man awards, we were waiting to see who was going to be bringing the glam, the drama and the best beauty looks of the night.  Here are some of our favorites that walked the red carpet.

Katy Perry was a “firework” last night at the VMA’s. The singer rocked a sleek high ponytail that we thought complimented the “wild” dress choice and gave way to see her clean, polished makeup look.  A stunning beauty look that made us feel she was definitely a head turner.

Looking fierce in black leather this dynamic singer also needed a fierce beauty look. Jennifer Hudson‘s coif looked perfect in this sleek, long straight style complimented by a fierce bang. That is the way to work a bang. The dark lined eyes were smoldering and made her eyes pop, while keeping a light lip to really emphasize the eyes. A fierce statement done right!

Old Hollywood glamor nods done right are always a favorite of ours. Taylor Swift stepped on to the red carpet showcasing retro pin curls and some serious smoldering makeup. We thought that taking her long hair and shaping it into a shorter chin length gave the style some serious glam appeal. Smokey eyes with her signature red lip completed the look and while we know the red lip as her signature lip choice it does look great with the entire look.

New Tresses for this musical. The dress is the show stopper yet, what we loved was the hair and makeup look amazing and while understated it is stunning. Ciara‘s makeup showcased her stunning skin and had a sun-kissed effect that made her beauty all the more. The beachy waves were complimentary to the understated glamor. One of our very favorite looks from the VMA’s.
