The founder and leader in charitable brand One for One giving, Blake Mycoskie, founder of TOMS, said it was always a goal to give in the U.S. Since he founded the company seven years ago, TOMS fans/customers have asked him, “When will you give here?” It took TOMS time to ensure that they could give in our own backyard with the same stringent measures and effectiveness that the company is doing on a global scale (in 60 countries).Just look at the types of shoes they will be giving away on their first giving trip – quite a few new designs – a gym shoe, winter/rain boots and a comfy, casual shoe. They’re hoping the gym shoes help kids who don’t have access to any sort of sports or fitness gear become more active. Additionally, the winter/rain boots should help those in colder and wetter climates with more protective gear. It makes me happy to hear the giving will begin in our own country since there are so many children in need right here in the USA.
