Special guests this year include Wayde King and Brett Raymer of Animal Planet’s hit realty TV show “TANKED” and will offer entertaining seminars and demonstrations.Wayde and Brett run the largest aquarium manufacturing company in the nation, Acrylic Tank Manufacturing, and create custom aquariums for businesses and individuals ranging from anything your imagination can conjure up!

I had a chance to ask the Tanked team a few questions and they responded with some interesting answers!

Q: What is the most unique aquarium you have created for an individual’s home and where was the tank located in the home?

A: We did a 32-foot tall, 11-foot diameter cylinder for a house in Scotland and it was in the center of the house and had a floating staircase around it!

Q: What is the most unique aquarium you have created for a business?

A: It was the car aquarium. We cut a car in half and made it into a tank for a high-end auto shop.

Q:  What is the most challenging tank you have created and what specifically were the issues?

A: We built an aquarium for a church that took over two years to build and the church had to be actually built around the tank!

Q: What is the trick to working with family members in a business?  I’m sure it can be tough sometimes! Any advice for other businesses run by family members?

A: Get your own office . . .and don’t do it! (…run a business with family members)

Q:  I see you have a “Marine Tech” Robert . . . .I’d like to hear a few tips from him about how to keep fish alive and tanks looking fresh!  I could never keep my fish alive when I had them as pets in my little 5 gallon tank in college!  Any tips from yourselves or Robert would be great!

A: Filtration is very important, so make sure you have the right filters as this is what keeps the fish alive. Also fish need care just like any other animals. So do your weekly maintenance.

The Tanked team will be at the show to answer any questions you may have about your fish aquarium and you’re sure to learn many new tips and techniques and be entertained by the two charismatic duo!

Bring the kids and the whole family because this year the show is offering more family and children’s activities than ever before! Costco presents an interactive Kids’ Zone with coloring and other fun activities; kid’s cooking classes will be offered by Chef Lori Hinze of Cook, Learn, Grow. There will even be a reading nook for children to read and look at the latest children’s books offered by USBorne Children’s Books and so much more!!
