The Mill House Inn Bed & Breakfast In The Hamptons

If you are searching for the perfect getaway in the Hamptons, look no
further. Located walking distance from the center of East Hampton,
while still being tucked away in the forest, the Mill House Inn is the ultimate bed and breakfast experience. In countrified luxury with a cozy, inviting ambiance, each room bears its own distinct charm from the Hemingway Suite to the Jackson Pollack Room. The state-of-the-art bathrooms and gas fireplaces in every accommodation preset imaginations toward fall escapes, winter wonderlands and spring flings.

From our first contact with the Inn, attention to detail and our every wish became apparent. Though we had booked our stay last minute, pre-arrival dinner reservations for the most sought after spots in town at the height of the season were landed for us. A picnic basket and chairs for the beach were also pre-offered to us so that we could greet the sea without delay upon arrival.

Entering, we were welcomed by friendly staff and also beckoned with selections of freshly baked cookies, biscotti, fruit and a wide variety of beverages, all available around the clock. Escorted to our accommodations, we discovered other touches to tempt our palettes. To our pleasant surprise, there were chocolate covered strawberries and a refrigerator stocked with drinks and snacks available at no additional charge.

We had the pleasure of staying in one of The Mill House Inn’s luxury suites, called “Americas Cup.” Readied to perfection, it was a romantic, nautically themed accommodation replete with maritime flags and sailboat models. There were three flat screen
televisions, including one in the bathroom. It also boasted a dressing room, huge double marble shower, serenity air bath, wet bar and private deck. I took an extremely relaxing bath with their house made Eucalyptus Sea Salt. The bathroom did not lack a thing that could foster well-being. There were essential oils provided for the shower as well as non-chemical air freshener. Truly refreshing indeed!

The bed was as comfortable as sleeping on a cloud, so we felt
incredibly rested by morning. We woke up just prior to our delicious breakfast delivered to our room. We had ordered it the night before and room service came right on time. The breakfast menu includes delicious sandwiches, oatmeal, French toast,
pancakes, omelets and their famous lobster fritatta. Another rarity of The Mill House Inn is their use of the highest quality, healthy ingredients in their food – most of which are local and organic.

Their coffee is ‘out of this world’ amazing.  I dare say it is one of the best-kept secrets of East Hampton. Their wide variety of options include caffe latte, caffe mocha, maccihato, caffe Americano and best of all, a cold-pressed ice coffee that is 70 percent less acidic than other coffees. A Sowden Softbrew is used to filter the grind and allow it the precise amount of heat to brew to excellence. Beware, for this brew could convert tea-toddlers to coffee addicts! What’s more, they use only organic milk and
even had almond milk on hand! If you’re not a coffee person, you will
be just as impressed by their selection of teas, which entails
the same precision in brewing. The iced green tea that I had
there was the best I’ve ever had.

Indoor pleasures did not stop there, so you will not have to worry about getting rained or snowed in. There are plenty of board games and a vast selection of movies. Most impressive is their popcorn, which comes in variety of delectable flavors. Upon request, it is air-popped and instead of butter, grapeseed oil is used.

Needless to say, we left feeling thoroughly pampered, with great memories of our stay and planning for our next visit. Whether you seek the perfect spot to hibernate in the cooler months or an idyllic sun and sea holiday with close proximity to the beach, The Mill House Inn is just what you, your family and your canine companion (yes, they are welcomed, too) are looking for. It is the kind of place
that will have you looking forward to coming back season after season, year after year.
