The 5th Annual Glitter & Glam event benefiting Agape Animal Rescue definitely lived up to its title at the Hutton Hotel in Nashville. Between couture for humans and their canine counterparts, there was lots of glam to go around.
The event was hosted by the absolutely charming Kimberly Locke and country singer Phoenix Stone. The pair brought a lively rapport to the well-attended evening and surely convinced some attendees to become new pup moms and dads; or at least planted a seed in their heads for the drive home.
The night was organized to benefit Agape Animal Rescue; but what’s a fundraiser without some fun? Enter delicious treats for a gal and her best friend by Dulce Desserts and Bubby Bear Bakery. Who knew you could cater your wedding and your dog’s birthday party in one fell swoop?
Why stop at goodies when you can have style? Not only did humans get to strut their stuff on the runway with fashions by Nashville-based Australian rock clothing brand, Corello, but so did the dogs, with some outfits by beloved local doggie brand, Baxter, Bailey & Co.
A few canines chose to attend the event au natural in their day to day “coat” while others like Lulu the Shi Tzu pictured left, went haute couture in an all pink number with hair that could only be outdone by a southern beauty queen.
In addition to the night’s festivities, there was a silent auction with overwhelming support provided by local businesses. Auction prizes included but were not limited to: a hair package from William Edge Salon and gift certificates to Bucca Reflexology, Genesis Diamonds, Yoga Harmony, Wild Cow Restaurant, M Street Restaurant and lastly, one of the most unique raffles, an autographed pair of blue jeans and photo from the queen of country herself – Dolly Parton.
As an added reminder, Agape animals are usually house and leash-trained, helping to more easily make the transition from rescue to forever home. If you’re interested in adopting one of the many dogs in need of a great home, visit Agape’s site here to learn more about the adoption process.
Overall, Glitter & Glam proved to be a great night for an even greater cause. Keep an eye out for next year so you too can be a part of making an animal’s life better, and who knows, maybe yours too.
