Meera Rajagopalan is the Austin Editor for Miss A. A proud Longhorn, Meera earned her journalism degree from UT. Some of her hobbies include event planning, writing and baking. She loves trying new recipes and experimenting with food. Her latest creation was Pistachio Fudge. A tech nerd at heart, Meera loves cool iPhone apps and geeking out with friends about social media trends. Aside from the tech stuff, Meera also enjoys discovering new fonts. There’s something about finding the perfect font to help enhance titles. Besides her hobbies, Meera loves free stuff. So far besides tons of samples, she’s won concert tickets, movie passes (compliments of Do512) and a cooking class.

Cap City Comedy Club Presents: Drew Carey

The Drew Carey Show, The Price is Right, and Whose Line Is It Anyway?  all helped make comedian Drew Carey a household name, and this Friday he will perform right here in Austin at the Cap City Comedy Club. Since its inception in 1986, the Cap City Comedy Club has opened its doors to a number of well-known comedians including Ellen DeGeneres, DL Hughley, Dave Attell, and Joe Rogan. Carey is one more name to add to that list.

The Pink Panther and Scavenger Hunt

Since celebrating the 50th anniversary of The Pink Panther would not be the same without your own hunt for clues and objects, the team at The Paramount put together a scavenger hunt to go along with the screening of the movie. Guests will be able to participate in an “Austin-centric, Pink Panther themed scavenger hunt before the movie.

Teams are made up of two to four people. Prizes will be awarded for first, second and third places. The winning team will receive a movie party for 50. They will be able to select a screening during the Summer Classic Film Series and get admission for their entire party, plus soda, wine & beer for your group and a private reception area. Plus, the team will get  Platinum Film Fan Badges for the summer classic film series films plus popcorn and parking for each film all summer long.

Pollyanna Theatre Co. Presents The Funnybun Family Picnic

Join the Pollyanna Theatre Company for their last show of The Funnybun Family Picnic. Written by Emily Cicchini,  is all about sibling rivalry, a parent who recently lost his job and a working mom who is trying to juggle the demands of her work and her family. The main character, Buffy Funnybun, is a young girl who on her own quest to find her identity and be her own person. This play is suitable for audiences four and up.

WHEN: 2 p.m., followed by “Pay What You Like Party”
