Dagne Dover hosted their launch party at Site 109 on Wednesday, June 26, complete with sushi, summer cocktails and a photo booth. Bags were hung on the wall for party-goers to view and even try on.
So what’s so special about these new bags? Everything. The Dagne Dover T.I, $245, has compartments for your cell phone, laptop, id or metro card, pen or lipgloss, and even your umbrella. And if you want your bag personalized, they can do that too! All their products are designed and made in NYC’s Garment District, so you know you’re getting the best quality.
If you’re in need of something a bit smaller, check out The Dagne Dover CW.I, $125. It serves as both a clutch and a wallet, and comes in several colors to match all your summer outfits. This clutch has many compartments which provide easy access to your credit or metro card, a chain to keep your keys secure and a lipgloss holder. Whether you’re at a party, on the subway heading to work, or out dancing, this clutch will be with you through it all!
Co-founder and creative director of the company, Jessy Dover, was trained at Parson’s School of Design and by her senior year she was sponsored by Coach. She also has experience working with Armani Exchange, Jen Kao and Dennis Basso. Her charm and creativity help make Dagne Dover all that it is today.
“I partnered with my friend who had complementary skill sets,” said Dover when asked about the creation of her new collection. It took over a year of hard work to make this project become a reality, but all of that certainly shows in the products’ quality and beauty.
Melissa Shin, founder and CEO of Dagne Dover, played a huge role in the development of the company and Summer 2013 collection. She received her MBA at University of Pennsylvania – The Wharton School and has also worked Coach, Fahrenheit 212 and The Nuance Group. Without this extremely motivated and talented woman, the brand wouldn’t be the same!
Deepa Gandhi, the COO/CFO of Dagne Dover, also has her MBA from University of Pennsylvania – The Wharton School. With previous work at Club Monaco and Lehman Brothers, she has perfected her skills and completes the incredible team that makes up the brand.
