Luxury. Fashion. Style. Image. Four words you can’t say without thinking: CHANEL. Years ago we were blessed with Mademoiselle Gabrielle ‘Coco’ Chanel who changed the world of fashion forever. Her apartment found on Rue Cambon in Paris, France was where the legend began. From there, a privately held company specializing in luxury products was developed and over the years became the internationally known House of Chanel.
Today, 185 Chanel boutiques are placed around the world. This summer (June 11), Bergdorf Goodman debuted their new Chanel accessories boutique in New York City, adding even more fabulous Chanel products to their store. More Chanel items can be found in their ready-to-wear salon on the second floor.
As you walk into the new shop, designed by Peter Marino, you might notice many of the decorations are inspired by the original design of Coco Chanel’s apartment. Colors of beige, gold, black and white surround you as you browse through the many accessory displays. The shop’s modern and fresh look reminds visitors of the company’s goal to always pay attention to detail, rich materials and craftsmanship.
Marino made sure to use handwoven carpets throughout the store that use patterns reminiscent of the classic tweed Chanel jacket. Textured bronze vases like those in Chanel’s apartment are used to hold bouquets of flowers and the walls are covered in unique paintings by local artisans. Needless to say, the new shop is quite pleasing to the eye and will give you the ultimate shopping experience.
Some accessories from the 2012/2013 Métiers d’Art collection Paris-Edimbourg made a debut in this salon at Bergdorf Goodman, as well as some watches from the Mademoiselle Privé collection. You’ll be able to find a variety of sunglasses and handbags here, several jewelry pieces, wallets and shoes and much more.
