Enjoy a New Orleans tradition, and celebrate Independence Day at Go Fourth on the River. Taking place in downtown’s French Quarter, this twenty-third annual event will feature a day’s worth of festivities on and around Woldenberg Riverfront Park.

In addition to live musical performances throughout the day, both locals and visitors can enjoy special offerings from a number of the surrounding businesses and venues. The Audubon Aquarium of the Americas is offering a $4 single ticket discount, which can be used for either the Aquarium, or Butterfly Garden and Insectarium. In addition, many of the shops at both JAX Brewery and The Riverwalk Marketplace will feature special sales or offers throughout the holiday weekend.

The highlight of Go Fourth on the River is the Dueling Barges Fireworks Extravaganza, which begins at 9 p.m. on Thursday, July 4. Floating on the Mississippi River between the Gov. Nichols Street Wharf and Canal Street Dock, the barges will send up a breathtaking fireworks show that is choreographed to the WWL AM & FM (101.9) patriotic music show.

For great, family-friendly fun, make sure that you don’t miss this year’s Go Fourth on the River! For a map of festivities, as well as a selection of coupons, visit the event website here.
