Q: What made you decide to work at Conrad New York?
A: The opportunity to manage the opening of a luxury hotel in NYC with significant event space, retail space, as well as being part of the continued development of the lower Manhattan area was a job I just couldn’t pass up.
Q: What’s the best part about your job as General Manager at Conrad New York?
A: Seeing the hotel evolve and grow on a daily basis, interacting with the team and our customers.
Q: What is your favorite area of the hotel?
A: The lobby, as it is unusually large and a great people watching place.
Q: How has the Conrad New York changed since opening last year?
A: We get better every day and are settling into a nice rhythm of business as the local community becomes more familiar with us.
Q: What are some lessons you have learned in the first year at Conrad New York?
A: Construction in NY is not easy!
Q: How is Conrad New York being socially responsible? Can you give details about charity projects the Conrad New York has aligned with this year?
A: We have done several events with the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council in the past year as well as many donations for weekend stays to charitable organizations in the local area.
Q: Why should travelers to NYC stay at Conrad New York? What makes Conrad New York different?
A: To have a luxury hotel with unusually large rooms/suites in NYC, in an area that is booming but in a way is almost like a city within NYC, you are able to enjoy all the luxuries of NY but are also able to get away from the hustle and bustle of midtown or times square
Q: Will LEED certification be the norm going forward with Conrad Hotels?
A: Sustainability is very important to Conrad Hotels but getting certification is not easy depending on the buildings age, etc. so while we will strive for it, it may not always be possible.
Q: What are two things guest can look forward to in the future at the Conrad New York?
Q: What are you looking for when hiring senior members of management?
A: Luxury experience, great people skills, enthusiasm, and innovative thinking, as well as the ability to have a little fun once in a while!
Q: Three pieces of advice you would offer college students looking to go into the hospitality industries?
A: Be willing to work hard, listen, ask lots of questions, and make sure you develop great relationships with those around you.

A: An important part of the local community, one of the top hotels in NYC for out of town guests as well as for catering events, the flagship of the Conrad Brand
