Shopping In Paris: 5 Best Shops For Accessories

For most women, to have a day of shopping (or maybe a few!) in Paris would be a dream come true. In each of the 20 arrondissements, one will stumble upon countless unique boutiques while strolling down the cobblestone streets of Paris. On the Champs-Élysées all the main designer brand stores can be found fairly easily. However, the best shops tend to be tucked away in various places throughout the city. Whether you’re looking for simple and classic jewelry, trendy leather bags, unique hats, or even vintage accessories, there is a store for you. Here are a few that I recommend paying a visit to, if you ever find yourself shopping here in one of the best fashion capitals of the world.

MERCI

This shop is located in the 3rd arrondissement, otherwise known as the ‘Haut-Marais.’ It combines all the best aspects of Paris in one unique store: fashion, food, and design. As you wander through the store, you can find a variety of household decor, clothing, accessories, shoes, etc. Read a book and enjoy some coffee in their Used Book Cafe, grab a snack and enjoy a new film in their Ciné Café, or dine at The Merci Canteen. And you can feel good about your purchases since a portion of all proceeds go to the merci endowment fund which finances acts of human development, particularly in the education area.

La Boutique de Louise

Located right off Boulevard Saint-Germain, this lovely boutique pleases many different styles and tastes. The neighborhood of Saint-Germain-Des-Prés in the 6th arrondissement has always been famous for being a shopping heaven as well as being full of great cafes and restaurants. This particular boutique, named after the owner’s grandmother, has a good selection of accessories of many sorts. Retro, girly, trendy and even many designer pieces can be found here in this little shop. And if you’re looking for a gift for someone of the younger crowd, there is a children’s section as well.

Saint-Ouen Flea Markets (Le Marché aux Puces de Paris)

Just outside the city of Paris at the end of the line 4 metro are several hidden flea markets scattered around a fairly large neighborhood. With some determination and curiosity, visitors will discover 15 unique markets selling everything from antique fur coats to sunglasses from decades past. Most tourists do not just stumble upon this magical place, so if you’re looking for a one-of-a-kind experience during your stay in Paris, I highly recommend paying these markets a visit! However, be prepared to walk a bit through the ‘swap meets,’ don’t mistake those for the antique markets. This great map will help you navigate your way to the real treasures that make up the largest flea market in the world.
