Miss A Columnist

Kelly Fay is the Nashville Editor for Miss A. She is a firm believer that life wouldn’t be as enjoyable without a steaming fresh cup of coffee early in the morning, sipped from a beautifully detailed-painted mug. She values the small but beautiful things in life. She adores travel, even if it is to the local coffee shop; She lives for laughter with a friend, even if it is at my expense; and she loves a challenge, even if she doesn't come out a winner. She grew up and lived in beautiful sunny California where her love for the outdoors was sparked at an early age. Following her desire to be surrounded by beauty, she relocated to Humboldt County to attend Humboldt State University on a basketball scholarship. She received both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degree from Humboldt State in Kinesiology with an emphasis in teaching/coaching. Led by her inner-gypsy, upon graduation she traveled and lived in many different places. She called the Alaskan darkness home during the winter of ‘08, experienced” tea time” and” the tube” while living in London, and resided in the sandy dunes of Newport Beach, California for nearly two years. She moved to Nashville to experience the simplicity of the South while still engaging in city life. She spends her weekdays teaching preschool and personal training while she spends her weekends being active, exploring new places and eating good foods. She is an adventurous and spontaneous girl who enjoys a good time but also wants to make a difference in this crazy world!

Dani’s heart seems to be just as big as her voice, as 50 percent of the proceeds, when purchased through reverbNation, will go towards Charity: Water, a non-profit organization “bringing clean, safe drinking water to people in developing countries.” All donations made to Charity: Water go directly to fund water projects which have resulted in a whopping 3.3 million people receiving clean water to date. Dani explains the importance of doing her part, “I’ve always felt that if you have a platform to ‘speak’ to a large number of people, why not use it to bring attention to issues you feel need it.”

Dani attributes her inspiration for her music to the tunes she listened to growing up coupled with the artists she enjoys today. The combination has created quite the sound as she describes her style, “like if Stevie Wonder and Sia started a band,” as she laughs she continues, “I guess my style, simply put, is R&B/pop inspired.”
