Who comes to your mind when you think ‘charming’, you know, aside from the prince. Who comes to your mind when you think of ‘soft’ or ‘the epitome of Disney princess eyes?’ If you’re thinking of Amanda Seyfried, you’re not alone. The beauty brand Cle de Peau Beaute, found at Nordstrom, stands for bringing out every woman’s individual beauty, a brand promise that Ms. Seyfried shares. As the spokeswoman for Cle de Peau, Ms. Seyfried represents such products as their Enriched Lip Luminizer, Cream Foundation and Cheek Color Duo, among several others, but just like the brand she represents, the “Les Miserables” actress believes in beauty that is more than skin deep.
Though the actress is a busy girl these days, she still finds time to give back, especially to the thing that makes us who we are: families. Starting by giving back to the first faze of life, this week’s beauty is an avid supporter of the March of Dimes, a large organization dedicated to bringing healthy babies into the world by providing education, health services and care to mothers and fathers and eventually their children. The goal of the organization is to prevent birth defects, premature birth and infant death by raising awareness with regular fundraisers countrywide. Ms. Seyfried also supports the efforts of those helping children who only want to grow up, such as St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, America’s third largest health care charity. The research hospital is famous for never turning away a sick child just because of their family’s inability to pay for their medical bills, as well as pioneering new cures and treatments for every child in their care. Ms. Seyfried also gives back to Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, which this year celebrated 30 years of researching cures and saving the lives of children through preventative measures and health education. The actress is also a supporter of Autism Speaks, the non-profit organization which uses global biomedical research to find the causes and a cure for Autism and which also raises awareness about how Autism affects the person afflicted and their families.
As a woman who has clearly chased her own dreams, Ms. Seyfried also supports the non-profit organization Believe In Dreams, a charity which provides comfort to chronically and seriously ill patients and their families. Even though the majority of her charity work is centered around the US and the rest of North America, this past year, for her 27th birthday, the actress requested that instead of gifts, any of her well wishers make either a $27 or $270 donation to Charity Water, a non-profit organization aimed at bringing clean, safe water to everyone all over the world by creating new water sources for those in remote areas and teaching the public about water preservation and sanitation. For her birthday, this week’s beauty requested that all donations made for her birthday be donated to the women and children in Rwanda who walk for miles to collect unsanitary drinking water. In this way, the actress was able to raise $28,055 for Charity Water.
Nordstrom might not be the first place you think of when you need a new concealer, mascara or lipstick, but the next time you need some, think twice and be happy that the Cle de Peau Beaute products you pick up are represented by a woman who believes in the beauty of others and the beauty of their dreams. Come back next week to find out who else is showing off her beauty, inside and out!
