On Friday June 14, Kathy Najimy,the actress who has appeared in over 20 films, including the blockbuster hits Sister Act and Sister Act 2, and has been the voice of “Peggy Hill” in King of the Hill, will be the keynote speaker for a luncheon benefiting Hope’s Door. Dallas’ own local celebrity Pat Smith, wife of Emmitt Smith (of Dallas Cowboys and Dancing with the Stars fame) and co-host of local morning show D :The Broadcast serves as honorary chair.
Hope’s Door is a shelter and counseling center offering comprehensive programs and services designed to help break the cycle of domestic violence to families in Collin County. Since 1989, Hope’s Door has provided safe shelter for over 6,000 women and their children and has answered more than 30,000 crisis line calls.
The luncheon is hosted by Attorneys Serving the Community (ASC), a volunteer organization comprised of approximately 300 women attorneys from the Dallas/Ft. Worth-area who are committed to raising awareness and support for local charities that benefit women, children or families.
The public is invited to hear Ms. Najimy speak about the impact citizens and organizations like Hope’s Door can make in helping break the cycle of domestic violence.
