The week is almost over and our cheat sheet is here to help plan for a fun weekend ahead! See you around San Diego.
Saturday, June 8 – Thursday, July 4
Easily one of the biggest summer events of the city, the San Diego County Fair opens its doors this Saturday, June 8. “Game on!” is this year’s theme, perfect for getting us in the mood for some summertime play. From exhibitions to rides and deep-fried goodies to novelty shopping and outdoor concerts, the fair provides a wide range of family-friendly activities. For even more excitement, mark your calendar for the Big Bite Bacon Fest scheduled for Father’s Day or plan a date night around performances by Train or Colbie Caillat!

Wander the courtyard of The Spanish Village in Balboa Park this weekend to meet with local potters and shop their hand-made works of art. Even better, the Guild supports Empty Bowls, a hunger-relief organization helping one out of every eight Americans that struggle with food insecurity every day.

What’s more is that a portion of event proceeds will be donated towards a new community garden at the nearby Washington Elementary School.
