On Saturday, June 15 the East Andrews Entertainment District will host the Where’s Waldo Pub Crawl in which men and women alike will attempt to break the world record for most people dressed as the iconic children’s book character, Where’s Waldo. The current record is 3,872, which was set in Dublin, Ireland in 2011.
With six bars participating, the event will take place from 4 – 11 p.m. and will include live music, DJs, a costume contest, scavenger hunt, prizes and an after party. The atmosphere will be more like a festival, allowing for participants to set their own pace and visit each bar at their leisure, staying as long as they like while enjoying a complimentary drink. The after party will take place at Andrew’s Upstairs at 9 p.m. with Atlanta’s premier 80s tribute band, 80’s R Us.
A portion of the proceeds from the pub crawl will go to the nonprofit OneSight. The Where’s Waldo Bar Crawl has also partnered with Costumes, Etc., and 15 percent of the proceeds from Waldo costumes purchased online will be donated to OneSight. Participants are also encouraged to bring gently worn eyewear for men, women, and children to donate at the event. OneSight is committed to providing clear vision to millions in need through the hand-delivery of primary vision care and eyewear all over the world. All donated eyewear will be recycled by OneSight and hand-delivered to one of their Global Optical Clinics.
