Lindsey Jo Hand realized her love for writing and sharing information at a very young age. Over the years, she has worked as a journalist, a technical writer, and has done some academic writing as well. Lindsey is also a professor of communications for American Military University. During her spare time, she teaches guitar and piano lessons to children, which is one of her greatest joys. She also enjoys volunteering with Hippo Associates or the Southeastern Greyhound Association, making music, exercising, painting, and doing anything outdoors. She also loves spending time with her family, friends, and her dog and two cats.

Where’s Waldo Pub Crawl And World Record Attempt To Benefit OneSight In Atlanta

waldo1On Saturday, June 15 the East Andrews Entertainment District will host the Where’s Waldo Pub Crawl in which men and women alike will attempt to break the world record for most people dressed as the iconic children’s book character, Where’s Waldo. The current record is 3,872, which was set in Dublin, Ireland in 2011.

With six bars participating, the event will take place from 4 – 11 p.m. and will include live music, DJs, a costume contest, scavenger hunt, prizes and an after party. The atmosphere will be more like a festival, allowing for participants to set their own pace and visit each bar at their leisure, staying as long as they like while enjoying a complimentary drink. The after party will take place at Andrew’s Upstairs at 9 p.m. with Atlanta’s premier 80s tribute band, 80’s R Us.

OneSightLogos_Horizontal_HRA portion of the proceeds from the pub crawl will go to the nonprofit OneSight. The Where’s Waldo Bar Crawl has also partnered with Costumes, Etc., and 15 percent of the proceeds  from Waldo costumes purchased online will be donated to OneSight. Participants are also encouraged to bring gently worn eyewear for men, women, and children to donate at the event. OneSight is committed to providing clear vision to millions in need through the hand-delivery of primary vision care and eyewear all over the world. All donated eyewear will be recycled by OneSight and hand-delivered to one of their Global Optical Clinics.
