Go outside and play! At least that’s the advice, sentiment, and mission behind Get Outdoors Colorado. Saturday, June 8, 2013 is National Get Outdoors Day, and Get Outdoors Colorado will be hosting a free event at City Park to celebrate it. There will be all kinds of fun activities that people of all ages and skill levels can participate in and try out. The point is for everyone to get a taste of all the ways she or he might take advantage of what the Colorado outdoors have to offer. The aim of the festivity is to encourage more healthy and active lifestyle habits in a way that promotes conservation and respect of natural resources in all forms of outdoor recreation.
This is an event for the whole family! There will be four interactive villages where the activities available will include biking, building, climbing, dancing, exploring, fishing, gardening, paddling, and more. Each village is intended to be educational and experiential, and anyone can participate.
In addition to all the activities, there will be food vendors present; if you plan to snack, be sure to bring cash. Water stations will also be set up throughout the event, but it’s still a good idea to bring your own just in case. And don’t forget your sunscreen; healthy and responsible outdoor enjoyment is the theme, after all. Vehicle parking around City Park is limited, so if you really want to get into the spirit of the day before you even arrive, walk or ride your bike.
Close your web browser, shut off the TV, and make your way down to City Park on Saturday, June 8, 2013 for a couple of hours of outdoor amusement.
WHEN: Saturday, June 8, 2013 from 9:00 – 4:00 p.m.
TICKETS: Free to attend.
