In the present time Mothers Day has come to be internationally recognized as the day to honor all mothers and thank them for the services they impart for the benefit of their individual child and consequently to the development of mankind. Here at Miss A, we wanted our staff to tell a special memory about their mothers while recommending fashionable gift ideas. We hope this feature will spark your favorite memories from your mom as well. Happy Mother’s Day from the staff at Miss A.

I’m blessed to not only love my mother, but to like her and have her as a best friend. I admire her sense of adventure and fun, youthful spirit, patience, generosity, high energy, strength, intelligence, style and capacity for love. My mother was a fashion designer, and attempted to teach me to sew, but I didn’t have the patience for it. My mother is a gourmet cook and threw memorable dinner parties, and tried to teach me to cook, but again I don’t really have much patience for making soufflés and croissants. My mother is beautiful and has great personal style, and for better or worse, she succeeded at teaching me all about beauty and fashion. My mother is intelligent and sophisticated, and very well-read. Her love of reading was definitely passed down to me. Though I would love to have the time and be able to accompany her on a fabulous vacation since she adores travel and learning about other cultures, I will have to make do and buy her one of my latest reads as well as some fun makeup for her to try.

My mother is one of the most important people in my life. She has been a constant force of strength, encouragement, and love. She is a stylish role model who takes care of every and then herself. I learned everything about skincare from her and to this day I am extremely grateful. One of my favorite memories with my mom is when she was sick in the hospital last year. Although it was a sad time for our entire family, I got to spend quality time with her on a weekly basis. I got to give her facials once a week and really help her take care of her skin. Being the fashion editor I couldn’t decide on just one gift, but there are three things my mom can’t live with out: great skin care products with SPF, a killer fragrance, and flowers.

My mother means the world to me because she is the most selfless person I know. She has sacrificed on both a personal and professional level to make sure that my brother and I were raised to be the best people we could be. When I was four and had pneumonia, she would stay up all night telling me stories and designing beautiful paper dolls that I could play with in the morning.
Gift Recommendation: Diane Von Furstenburg Leather Trapez Bag
I would like to give my mom a handbag, because she never splurges on herself and as a visual artist, she appreciates things that are aesthetically beautiful. This Diane Von Furstenberg handbag is almost as lovely as she is. For Mother’s Day,

My mother, Maria, and I have been living on the opposite sides of the Atlantic for years. There is not a day when I don’t miss her guidance, her touch, her beauty, her presence. One of the fondest memories of her is her sense of style and ability to revive even the dullest of dresses and the plainest coat with the creative use of few accessories. She isn’t the kind of woman who would spend her budget on a new wardrobe or jewels. She has always been too selfless and completely family-oriented. Her daughters always came first and she has never been whimsical or too concerned about her image. Every time we talk on the phone, she will ask me if I keep a pair of gloves and an extra foulard in my purse, no matter the season. As a young woman she didn’t have the means to play with fashion, but when I look at her black and white pictures I see a beautiful woman and the timeless quality of an understated elegance. My gift for her would be a Chanel classic piece.
