Austin Fashion Week 2013: Austin Fashion Fiesta

When Austin Fashion Week throws a party, they really throw a party.  Celebrating Cinco de Mayo in style, Urban Betty Salon, Rae Cosmetics and Adelante held a “Fashion Fiesta,” as a part of Austin Fashion Week.

With Deep Eddy Vodka, an Austin-based distillery, serving up cocktails, and Santa Rita Cantina serving up snacks, guests mingled while the musical stylings of Courtney Sanchez played in the background.

While guests mingled, they could treat themselves to touch-ups compliments of RAE cosmetics. Aubree touched up my make-up, giving me an effortless look. While she was doing my touch-ups, Aubree noted that the makeup is heat and perspiration-resistant, perfect for that Texas heat. The team at Rae are also no stranger to Austin Fashion Week. They had their Golden Boots displayed proudly. The store has been in the shopping center for about five years now.  Guests Sarah and Jen enjoyed these touch-ups during their visit to the fiesta.

Besides the drinks, the food and the treats, Micah Yancey of BonBon Jewelry displayed some amazing pieces. Micah is a very talented designer. The jewelry was gorgeous and quite popular.

Besides being a great way to spend Cinco de Mayo, the fashion fiesta also benefitted a great, local cause. The hosts gave guests swag bags for a ten dollar donation to Austin Pets Alive!. Between the swag bags and silent auction items, the event raised more than $500 for the non-profit.

It was a fun, low key event. The perfect way to start the week, and prepare for the exciting events that are ahead for the rest of the week.
