The black-tie evening will begin at 6:00 p.m. with a silent auction and a sumptuous dinner, catered by McCormick and Schmick’s. Dance the night away to music from Crème Tangerine and enjoy games, entertainment and so much more.

Funds raised from events like the Hope Gala have funded cancer research and have provided services to those in need. More than $3.8 billion to date has been spent on cancer research breakthroughs including the pap smear crusade to detecting cervical cancer, mammography to screen for breast cancer, PSA tests for prostate cancer screening and many more.

At the local level, almost 200 calls a week are made by Washington state residents to the American Cancer Society’s cancer information line and visits to their website receives an average of 7,312 hits per week. In 2012, Washington residents visited the American Cancer Society’s Cancer Survivor Network (CSN) 70,082 times. The hotline, website and CSN provide Washington residents with extensive information on cancer, help with answering any questions and provide much needed support for those dealing with the disease. These services would not be available if it wasn’t for fundraising events like the Hope Gala.

The American Cancer Society is the nationwide, community-based, voluntary health organization dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major health problem by preventing cancer, saving lives, and diminishing suffering from cancer, through research, education, advocacy, and service.
