Miss A Columnist

Ashley Parker spent four years in DC, writing and styling for the fashion section of the Washington Post, and its sister style publication, Fashion Washington. She now calls New York her home as a writer, editor and lover of all things style who recently started working for Vanity Fair. Living in the city's West Village, Ashley will be on hand to report on all the newest trends in fashion, how to wear them, new designers and lines to look out for. She will be your eyes and ears at New York Fashion Week, reporting who's in the front row, what designer killed it and just how crazy the after-parties got. As a Carrie-Bradshaw idolizer who lives in Louboutins, Ashley is ready to tackle New York City, one fashion show at a time. Her favorite designers include Betsey Johnson, Christian Siriano, Alexander McQueen and Balmain and wouldn't be caught dead in harem pants or anything by Ed Hardy.

Step aside Christian Louboutin, make way Manolo Blahnik, there’s a new shoe designer on the scene and she’s taking her heels to new heights.

Twenty-eight-year-old Sophia Webster burst onto the scene last season and set herself apart with her quirky designs, bright colors and feminine fearlessness.

While she may seem like a newbie to many, Webster has been in the footwear game for quite some time. After attending London’s Cordwainers College and The Royal College of Art, the young designer landed an assistant position with the notoriously talented Nicholas Kirkwood.

As the shoe design veteran’s right-hand gal, Webster studied his business before branching out on her own. Last year she was named Emerging Footwear Designer of the Year by Condé Nast Footwear News and one of the Top 100 People to Watch on The Times 2013 New Power List.

Her made-in-Brazil label of shoes and other accessories is now available at major retailers such as Neiman Marcus, Saks and Net-A-Porter ranging from $295 to $995.

From paint splatter print booties to polka-dotted patent sandals, check out some of Webster’s most whimsical designs.
