On Tuesday, April 23, 2013, the African Rainforest Conservancy held their Twenty-Second Annual Artists for Africa benefit at the Bowery Hotel. The proceeds will support the conservation of Tanzania’s Arc Mountains and coastal forests, which are among the oldest and most biodiverse in the world.
Nicole Miller delivered a speech which was followed by a caviar and champagne reception. Hanz Brattskar accepted the New Species Award on behalf of Norway for their global conservatory and exploratory efforts.
Thomas McGrath was awarded for Lifetime Achievement.. That was followed by dinner, a live auction and cocktail after party Music was played by DJ Leslie Kirchhoff. The silent auction included many impressive works of art, including paintings, photography and sculptures, some of which depicted animals of Africa.
Guests included Lauren Hutton, Cassandra Seidenfeld, Whitney Larkin and Maria Bello.
