Miss A Columnist

Christine Alhambra is originally from Annapolis, Maryland and recently made the move to Arlington, VA., working in DC. In Annapolis she worked as the managing editor at an international boating magazine, traveling, writing, and living aboard boats across the country. This new start included a job change and of course, new surroundings. Change is always exciting, but also requires getting comfortable outside of her normal comfort zone. Christine studied Journalism in college and has a passion for travel, fashion, food, beauty products, shopping (it's a problem!), and running; and recently joined in on the Crossfit phenomenon.

A ten-week campaign competition to earn The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s “Man & Woman of the Year” titles, by raising funds for blood cancer research comes to a close this June 8 at the LLS Man and Woman of the Year Finale Gala. The candidates compete in honor of children who are local blood cancer survivors, the Boy & Girl of the Year. Every dollar counts as one vote, and the titles are awarded to the man and woman with the most votes at the end of ten weeks. This years candidates can be found here.

Man & Woman candidates have been working relentlessly to meet their goals in order to help make life better for hundreds of thousands of patients battling blood cancers: leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma.
