On Saturday, April 13 and Sunday, April 14, 2013, the sands of Fort Lauderdale Beach will be turned into a oceanfront festival grounds for the first ever Rock the Ocean’s Tortuga Music Festival – a music festival for a cause.

During the two-day music festival more than twenty pop, rock, and country artists will perform on three stages, located directly on the beach in order to celebrate and help preserve our oceans. Artists preforming include Kenny Chesney, Eric Church, Jake Owen, Kip Moore, Lynrd Skynrd, The Avett Brothers, Eli Young Band, Grace Potter, Gloriana, Sister Hazel, among others.

The Rock The Ocean Foundation (RTO) is dedicated to supporting scientific research, education, and increasing public awareness about the issues impacting the world’s oceans. RTO teams up with high profile musical artists and entertainers across the country who perform and participate in events that educate the public on marine conservation.

“This is not your average music festival,” said festival producer AJ Niland. “This festival will showcase world class talent along with world class amenities on a world class beachfront setting. More importantly, it is a festival with a purpose.”

The festival will also partner with the Guy Harvey Ocean Foundation and the LandShark Lager Ocean Conservancy to create a one-of-a-kind Conservation Village  located on-site at the festival to educate audience members and provide them with the information and tools they need to help preserve the world’s oceans.

“In addition to being a world renowned artist, Dr. Guy Harvey is a world-class conservationist,” said Chris Stacey, RTO founder. “Our team is great at creating amazing concert experiences, and Guy and his team know how to help save the world’s oceans.”
