To go out in the glaring light of day or to walk under the fluorescent bulbs of the office without a professional make-up crew behind us is a reality that most women live every single day. The survivors of the ugly light war might have superstar and super mom, Halle Berry to thank for their victory. As the beautiful face of Revlon’s Photoready Make-Up, she is there to inspire all of us to be brave in the face of the ugly light war and go out with our heads held high.
Aside from inspiring the rest of us to brave the light, the Revlon spokeswoman spends her time supporting almost 20 different charities. Out of the many non-profit organizations she supports, one of them is in conjunction with Revlon! The Revlon Walk/Run For Women is a foundation dedicated to funding research to help cure cancer. The organization has raised over 68 million so far to put towards the research of those trying to cure all forms of cancer and is holding two more fundraisers this May in both New York and Los Angeles.
When she isn’t mixing her work with her good deeds, however, Mrs. Berry also supports the Afghanistan Relief Organization, a non-political volunteer funded effort to help needy Afghanistan to become self sufficient by means of proper education, food and clothing from over 800 volunteers of all backgrounds. She also supports Love Our Children USA, a large non-profit organization dedicated to keeping children safe and preventing all abuse and exploitation against our nation’s youth. Mrs. Berry, however, was not satisfied with simply keeping violence away from children alone; the actress also is an advocate for the Jenesse Center, a domestic violence intervention program which was stated by five African American women who were once victims themselves. The program reaches out to other women in similar circumstances and helps them to change their lives. One would think that that would be enough, but the Revlon spokeswoman also supports charities like the Make A Wish Foundation, Stand Up To Cancer and Shane’s Inspiration, an organization dedicated to creating more accessible playgrounds for children with disabilities.
It seems that this is one spokeswomen who, though she is always looking Photoready, has even more beauty on the inside. So, the next time you are braving the harsh noon sun and someone is begging to take your picture, relax, you have the make-up to back it up that is also being worn by a woman who is going above and beyond to help make the world look beautiful in all kinds of light. Come back next week to find out who else is showing off her beauty, inside and out.
