Dena Miller is the Dallas Editor for Miss A. She has been described by Style Network as a "Queen Bee". Formerly a glam rock scene Diva, Dena is now a Socialite on the Dallas philanthropy scene, specializing in Polo events that benefit women's and children's causes.

While never forgetting her small town roots from a Midwestern farming community in rural Missouri, she’s fit right in the “Big D” since coming here in 1984. After 11 years of promoting the music scene, hobnobbing with the most popular bands from coast to coast, she switched gears after meeting her husband at the first Polo match she ever attended. Always one for excitement, Polo became her new rock n roll.
With her marriage and new found passion for polo, came Philanthropy. Miller founded the Ladies Polo Auxiliary of Texas in 2005 with the goal of promoting the Sport of Kings in north Texas via charity events for causes that are close to her heart. To date the LPA has raised over $500,000 for causes such as domestic violence, children with serious medical needs, therapeutic horsemanship, the Polo Training Foundation, children’s advocacy and food drives for north Texas food Bank. When not working on her own events she is attending Charity luncheons and balls as well as volunteering at golf tournaments and Special Olympics events. She is a member of the USPA Equine Welfare committee and on Board of Dress For Succes Dallas.

Writing has been a lifetime passion of Dena’s. Besides working on a book that proceeds will benefit domestic violence organizations, and writing for two national polo magazines, is a frequent contributor to Dallas area publications, winning Best Contributor Award from Dallas Morning News Neighborsgo, she is co-authoring a book on the phenomenon of cyber bullying by adult women, referred to as Cyber Harrassment.

WFAA’s Ron Corning, US Weekly’s Steve Kemble and HGTV’s Hillari Younger Announced As Polo On The Lawn Judges

Polo on the Lawn is the highly anticipated polo event of Spring that kicks off the social season at Prestonwood Polo Club in high style. While Prestonwood boasts a family friendly, casual atmosphere for its Saturday Night Polo, the “Best” contests make this particular polo event a see and be-seen style affair.  Guests have many opportunities to strut their creative fabulous-ness and win great prizes. Dress to impress to win Best Dressed Couple, Man, Woman, Child, or even Dog.  Get double duty out of your Mad-hatter’s hat and vie for a chance to win the Best Hat contest. Use your imagination to create an original or classic picnic spread or tailgate party for Best Picnic and Best Tailgate contests.

Last year, Most Eligible Dallas cast members Drew Ginsburg and Tara Harper, with Miss A’s Dallas City Editor Teia Blackshear-Collier, had the honor of choosing the Best. Produced by the Ladies Polo Auxiliary of Texas, this annual event is to “promote and support the sport of polo while raising awareness and funds for women’s and children’s causes.” The group is thrilled to announce this year’s line up of celebrity judges: WFAA’s Ron Corning, Dallas Sassiest Lifestyle Guru and US Weekly Fashion Police‘s Steve Kemble, and Season 7 HGTV Design Star contestant Hillari Younger. Be sure to register at 3 p.m. at the Judges Table in the Grand Pavilion. Winners will be announced during the traditional half-time champagne divot stomp.  A word (s) from Steve - “When you hear the phrase ’not to be missed event in the Dallas area’, this would be THE event people are talking about! The only thing missing from this event is Kate Middleton and you can be assured if she was not restricted by doctors from flying she too would be there!”  “When judging I am looking for sass, frass, and a whole lot of class!”

Ron Corning will be emceeing the red carpet Kick off event hosted at Palomar’s Central 214 on April 11th, 6:00 pm. Passed hors’ d’oerves, wine, beer and  Mixologist  Amber West’s twist on the mint julep dubbed the “Equestrian”  are complimentary and Polo on the Lawn sponsor Memoria Mini Café provide swag bags for all.  From April 12 until May 4th you can purchase the Equestrian at Central 214 and Project Transformation will receive $1 from each libation sold.

The Twelfth Annual Polo on the Lawn is a Kentucky Derby Day-themed event held at Prestonwood Polo and Country Club every first Saturday in May. This year’s beneficiary is Project TransformationSponsorships are still available and a limited number of VIP tickets have been released for purchase. Sponsors and  VIP guests enjoy grandstand box seating catered by Applebee’s Little Elm with complimentary libations and exclusive gift bags. All attendees will receive a fun souvenir champagne glass.
