Polo on the Lawn is the highly anticipated polo event of Spring that kicks off the social season at Prestonwood Polo Club in high style. While Prestonwood boasts a family friendly, casual atmosphere for its Saturday Night Polo, the “Best” contests make this particular polo event a see and be-seen style affair. Guests have many opportunities to strut their creative fabulous-ness and win great prizes. Dress to impress to win Best Dressed Couple, Man, Woman, Child, or even Dog. Get double duty out of your Mad-hatter’s hat and vie for a chance to win the Best Hat contest. Use your imagination to create an original or classic picnic spread or tailgate party for Best Picnic and Best Tailgate contests.
Last year, Most Eligible Dallas cast members Drew Ginsburg and Tara Harper, with Miss A’s Dallas City Editor Teia Blackshear-Collier, had the honor of choosing the Best. Produced by the Ladies Polo Auxiliary of Texas, this annual event is to “promote and support the sport of polo while raising awareness and funds for women’s and children’s causes.” The group is thrilled to announce this year’s line up of celebrity judges: WFAA’s Ron Corning, Dallas Sassiest Lifestyle Guru and US Weekly Fashion Police‘s Steve Kemble, and Season 7 HGTV Design Star contestant Hillari Younger. Be sure to register at 3 p.m. at the Judges Table in the Grand Pavilion. Winners will be announced during the traditional half-time champagne divot stomp. A word (s) from Steve – “When you hear the phrase ‘not to be missed event in the Dallas area’, this would be THE event people are talking about! The only thing missing from this event is Kate Middleton and you can be assured if she was not restricted by doctors from flying she too would be there!” “When judging I am looking for sass, frass, and a whole lot of class!”
Ron Corning will be emceeing the red carpet Kick off event hosted at Palomar’s Central 214 on April 11th, 6:00 pm. Passed hors’ d’oerves, wine, beer and Mixologist Amber West’s twist on the mint julep dubbed the “Equestrian” are complimentary and Polo on the Lawn sponsor Memoria Mini Café provide swag bags for all. From April 12 until May 4th you can purchase the Equestrian at Central 214 and Project Transformation will receive $1 from each libation sold.
The Twelfth Annual Polo on the Lawn is a Kentucky Derby Day-themed event held at Prestonwood Polo and Country Club every first Saturday in May. This year’s beneficiary is Project Transformation.
