It was a down-home, backyard picnic during Rachel Ray’s third annual Feedback and Greenhouse Party, a four-day showcase at Bangers, and at her 6th Annual Feedback Party at Stubbs.
Feedback and Greenhouse Party
I stumbled upon the four-day showcase, featuring a diverse line-up including The Pharcyde, Wildcat!Wildcat! and Amy Cook. There was a line to get in, but it was well worth the wait. Inside, bartenders were serving up a wide variety of Blue Moon beer. Outside, on the lit patio, the artists performed as guests relaxed on picnic tables and munched on strawberry shortcake and hotdogs. It was a low-key, relaxing event. The intimate setting allowed fans to really enjoy the music. The artists hung out before their set, casually interacting with, at times, unsuspecting fans. Wildcat! Wildcat! was a favorite of the night. The LA trio, Jesse Taylor, Michael Wilson and Jesse Carmichae, describes their sound as “indie R&B,” combining lush melodies, falsetto vocals and arching harmonies. Their first two singles spread like “wildfire” across LA.
6th Annual Feedback Party
During her time at SXSW, Ray also hosted her 6th Annual Feedback Party at Stubbs. This party included performances from Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, The 1975, Frightened Rabbit, Delta Rae, ZZ Ward, and Bob Schneider. Since this was a free, open to the public event, there was a line out the door, hat continued down the street. Gaining in popularity, this was definitely a popular event at SXSW.
