The Hill (Country) was alive with the sound of music on Wednesday of the South by Southwest 2013 Media Conference and Music Festival.

One of the first stops of the day was day one of the Waterloo SXSW 2013 Day Parties. Some of the acts performing on Wednesday included, Tegan & Sara, Macklemore and Ryan Lewis, Jovanotti and Robert DeLong.

The party was packed as fans stood outside and listened to the music. As concert-goers filed in and out of the space, new listeners were able to make their way in and enjoy the music.

An act that drew a pretty big crowd was Macklemore and Ryan Lewis, whose springtime hit “Thrift Shop,” has been a Top 40 favorite for the past few months. Despite some sound issues, Macklemore and Ryan Lewis kept singing. He has been performing since 2000, under the name Professor Macklemore. It’s also been named the 18th best single of 2012 by Entertainment Weekly.

Waterloo Records has been serving the Austin community since 1982. During the 2013 Austin Music Awards, it took home Best Record Store in Austin. In a digital age, Waterlook still gives customers the opportunity to purchase a physical copy of an album or vinyl that they can touch.
