Four leaf clovers, leprechauns and lots of green drinks are all fun aspects of this holiday. However, if you and the kids want to do more this St. Patrick’s Day than wearing a green shirt, have no fear the city of Atlanta has so much to offer. Celebrate under the sea at the Georgia Aquarium or enjoy an outdoor wonderland at the Atlanta Fair with the whole family with activities for Irish lovers citywide.
The Georgia Aquarium is known for being the world’s largest aquarium and a tourist hotspot since opening its doors in 2005. Housing much more than fish, there are over 500 species of various animals that are way too many to name. Come on St. Patrick’s Day weekend to try to name them all. Festivities include live performances of traditional Irish song and dance, a scavenger hunt that of course leads to a pot of gold coins. There will also be friendly signs from ‘Fisher O’Gill’, reminding visitors how to be green year-round and protect the habitats of marine animals worldwide.
Going to the Atlanta Fair is a like getting on a bike after a long hiatus, you don’t remember how fun it is until you try it out again. This year will bring activities the whole family will enjoy from the baby pageants to the heart pounding thrill rides. This year 104.7 The Fish presents Fish Family Day to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day where you can get your picture taken with a leprechaun. As if that weren’t exciting enough, click here to get a free kids pass to save some green in your wallet.
Regardless of which venue you choose, the weather will be nice and it’ll be great opportunity to spend time with the family while supporting the local community.
