On April 4, the Modern Society and the Greater Carolinas Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society invites ladies to don their most extravagant pearls and for gents to pop the collars of their brightest polos in support of those living with MS.
Multiple Sclerosis is a debilitating disease that affects the central nervous system, resulting muscle spasms, numbness, eventually blindness, and a plethora of other disabling symptoms. In the U.S., there are over 400,000 men and women in the U.S. suffering from MS, and about 2.5 million worldwide. The National MS Society reminds us that, as one person is diagnosed with MS every hour, we are all connected to someone afflicted with this disease. People living with MS require loving support, both familial and monetary, and the Polos and Pearls Party is a great way to offer both.
This annual Party with a Purpose reigns in the beginning of derby season with the musical stylings of DJ Q Focus, and guests can expect a special appearance from Miss Raleigh USA Marcie Trivette. The media sponsor for this event is Live Work Play- Raleigh, NC, an organization that strives to keep people informed about where to live, dine, socialize, and be entertained in Raleigh. Solas, the program’s presenting sponsor, offers an upscale venue with a cocktail lounge, a chic rooftop, and its new Bio Restaurant. It is the stylish rooftop overlooking Glenwood South that serves as the backdrop for the Polos and Pearls event.
The Polos and Pearls Party will have raffle prizes donated and sponsored by Red Hat Ampitheatre, Bobbi Brown, Blue Lotus, Cary Flow Yoga, Vino Amora, and other exciting companies. Replete with these prizes, delicious appetizers, and $5 champagne cocktails, this party promises a splendid evening of entertainment, charity, and a touch of preppiness that extends beyond its delightfully alliterative title.
